Seasoned Litigator & Former Judge

Attorney Carolyn J. Thompson is a seasoned litigator and former judge who served in District and Superior Courts. Her experience on both sides of the bench for more than 20 years gives her invaluable insight into how cases should be handled effectively and timely. Attorney Thompson is also certified by the North Carolina Dispute Resolution Commission as a mediator for Superior Court and Family Dispute Settlement conferences.

The Background of an Insightful Jurist

A dedicated public servant with a demonstrable record of community recognition.  While continuing to serve an unopposed third term as District Court Judge, she received a gubernatorial appointment to Superior Court in April 2018. A professional, reliable and respected member of the judicial and legal community.  A self-published author of Abigail’s Veil, a domestic violence manual for the faith community, with over 1,000 books sold in less than a year. Licensed and ordained minister serving as an associate minister in a local congregation.
